Ayodhya Ram Mandir first became public in the 1980s when the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and other groups launched a campaign for constructing the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir. Gradually, in 1989, the VHP won the land of Ram Janmabhoomi.
In 2019, the Supreme Court of India handed over the disputed land to a trust for the construction of Ram Mandir. The trust is also known as Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, and in 2020, it started its construction works on Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi.
The construction of Ram Mandir is still in progress and it will be permanently open to the public from January 2024. The construction started on 5th August 2020, and the officials of the trust informed that the expected opening date of Ayodhya Ram Temple will be the mid-week of January 2024 after the inauguration on 22nd January 2024.
The Inauguration date for Ayodhya Ram Mandir is 22nd January 2024 after its completion. It will be inaugurated by our Hon'ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, in the presence of other delegates.
