Dharamshala sits at 1,475 metres on the lower slopes of the Dhauladhar range, and this 3 Nights 4 Days package is built around three things people actually come here for: the Tibetan Buddhist quarter at McLeodganj, the Triund trek, and the waterfalls and valley views around Bhagsu. You'll cover Namgyal Monastery (the Dalai Lama's residence), the Triund ridge trek, Bhagsu Waterfall, Dal Lake, and the Kangra Art Museum across four days, based out of a hotel in Dharamshala/McLeodganj with a driver-cum-guide for all transfers and sightseeing. Nearest railhead is Pathankot (about 85 km / 2.5–3 hours by road), and that's also your pickup and drop point on this package.
Pickup from Pathankot railway station and drive up through the Kangra valley to Dharamshala. Check in to your hotel by early afternoon. In the evening, visit Namgyal Monastery, the Dalai Lama's residence within the Tsuglagkhang Complex — allow about an hour, and dress modestly (shoulders/knees covered) as it's an active place of worship. Walk down to McLeodganj's main market afterward for Tibetan momos, thukpa, and handicraft shopping (prayer flags, singing bowls, pashmina shawls). Overnight in Dharamshala.
After breakfast, drive to Bhagsu village (about 2 km from McLeodganj) to see Bhagsunag Waterfall and the adjoining Bhagsunag Temple, an old Shiva shrine tied to local legend. From there, head to Dal Lake (not the Srinagar one — this is a smaller, quieter lake near Naddi village, good for a 20–30 minute stop and photos, occasional boating). In the afternoon, visit the Kangra Art Museum for Pahari miniature paintings, tribal jewellery, and old Kangra-fort artefacts. Evening free at leisure — good time for a café stop in McLeodganj or a short walk to Naddi viewpoint for sunset over the valley. Overnight in Dharamshala.
Post breakfast, drive up to McLeodganj (approx. 20–25 min from Dharamshala) and revisit the Tsuglagkhang Complex at a slower pace, plus the Tibetan Museum next door if you want context on the Tibetan refugee settlement here. Then start the Triund trek — roughly 9 km one-way from McLeodganj/Gallu Devi temple, gaining about 1,000 m in elevation, and typically taking 4–5 hours up (2.5–3 hours down) depending on fitness. It's rated moderate: no technical climbing, but steady uphill walking on a rocky trail, so decent shoes and a liter or two of water matter. At the top you get a straight-on view of the Dhauladhar snow line and the Kangra valley below. Carry a light packed lunch (can be arranged) and start by mid-morning to be back down before dark. Overnight in Dharamshala.
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and bid farewell to the mesmerizing landscapes of Dharamshala. Depending on your departure time, you may have some free time to explore the local markets for last-minute shopping. Our representative will assist you with your transfer to the airport or railway station for your onward journey.
